Learning to Feel (August 2023)
If you're like most of us, the news, violence and overwhelm of life has blunted or numbed your feelings. This book is the process of peeling back the many events and experiences that have blocked feelings as well as finding the ways to reopen to the full experience of those emotions as the essence of what it means to be human. How did we learn to feel and how can we relearn again? Each chapter includes questions for readers to assist them in doing the same.
Typhoon Honey (2021)
How is it that some people can rise above circumstances and create a life of joy and fulfillment when others in the same situation feel trapped and overwhelmed? Typhoon Honey teaches the reader how to harness the forces of nature and human psychology in order become the soul source and author of your future. It combines the power of physical nature and a deep understanding of the way our brains work to produce a powerful and enduring result.
Begun as an academic dissertation, Wrestling the Angel explores the writings of John of the Cross and the anonymous author of the Cloud of Unknowing to uncover how the "dark night of the soul" forces us to alter our innermost beliefs. Weaving together interviews, modern narratives and a reinterpretation of classical sacred text, Wrestling the Angel explains this mysterious process and brings ancient mystical wisdom into modern language and application.
The Survival Guide is a rather irreverent look at men in relationship - what we don't understand and what we can learn from men who have maintained a monogamous relationship for 30-60 years. While it was written by men, for men in a men's kind of language, the Survival Guide is mostly purchased by women to give to their husbands and lovers, because, well men think that sitting silently together while fishing is a bonding event and don't have a clue about what works in relationship (sorry, guys, read it).
Stations in the Night is a short booklet which uses a few of the beautiful poems of St John of the Cross as the springboard for deeper meditation. Paired with the beautiful images by Patrick Aievoli (professor of Graphic Art at Long Island University), Stations provides reflective commentary and questions to guide the reader to deeper understanding.
This book came into being when designing a Lenten meditation for a retreat center. We wanted to focus more on the spirituality of the participants than on the religious element of rituals like the Stations of the cross. Each stanza of the poem is illustrated with a complex and intricate image and followed by a reflection by the author based on the poem stanza.
Working a lot with scientists requires first introducing an emotional vocabulary - But how? This little eBook introduces you to one way to talk to scientists about emotional intelligence and how emotions differ or are slightly similar to each other. The Guide lays out several exercises based on the table of emotions. PLEASE NOTE: The Table was designed as a fun exercise and is not a research-based model.
We now offer t-shirts with some of the "elements" of the Periodic Table of Human Emotions as featured in Learning To Feel. Shirts are black 100% cotton with white print and cost $25.00 plus shipping and handling.
