Kris Girrell, M.Ed., MATR
Brief Background
Kris' background spans over 40 years of organizational consulting and executive leadership coaching.
In short, he is:
- A sought-after speaker - Kris is a regular keynote speaker and presenter (pre-COVID) with recent Keynote presentations including GALA/Munich 2019 (Globalization and Localization Association), TICE (Training Industry Conference), 2019 & 2018, IHAF (In House Agencies), 2019 and 2017 and TEDx Natick 2017. Since the pandemic, Kris has presented to the International Coaching Federation, and KTLC (translation conference) in Warsaw.
- Author of seven books on a variety of topics from Marital relations to spiritual and personal transformation (see Books and More section).
- A strategic consultant – working with the elite of Boston’s business landscape from pharmaceutical, legal and financial firms, to manufacturing and construction and include work in greater Boston, North and South America, Europe and Africa.
- A globally recognized executive leadership coach – clients have been among the top leaders in their respective firms locally and globally, and from the C-suite to senior management.
- A life-long competitor – whether years ago on the rugby pitch, or competing in Taekwondo; running four Boston Marathons or running his business, athletics has instilled a burning desire to give the very best to each endeavor. “Settling for” anything less is never an option.
EDUCATION
Kris received both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education in Psychology and Counseling from Pennsylvania State University and took courses toward a Doctorate at the University of Maryland. More recently he completed a Master of Arts in Theological Research at Andover Newton Theological School in Boston. Kris is certified in a large number of psychological and behavioral assessments and is a Member of the Society of Industrial/Organizational Psychologists and the National Speakers Association.
EXPERIENCE
Prior to founding Innerworks Consulting, Kris was Senior Partner at Camden Consulting Group (13 years), Senior Partner at Linkage Inc. (3 years), and Senior Vice President at DBM Consulting Group (8 years). Add prior to that 4 years as a DBM outplacement VP, 3 years in search and 8 years in higher education career planning and placement to round out the picture.
But it is Kris' creative flair that results in both unique publications and innovations in the world of coaching and consulting. His unique ability to craft solutions specific to the organizational or situational factors at hand is what most attract his clients or result in a new book or blog post.
